MONTEGO BAY, JAMAICA — Picture the elegance of The Plaza on New York’s Fifth Avenue, the grandeur of The Savoy on London’s River Thames, or the prestige of the Pullman Hotel near the Eiffel Tower in Paris. That’s the rarefied company now welcoming The Pinnacle, a US$450-million landmark development by LCH Development Limited, set on the stunning Reading Peninsula of Montego Bay, Jamaica.
In a bold stride that further cements its global ambition, LCH Development has officially partnered with Accor Ennismore (AE) — the fastest-growing lifestyle hospitality group in the world. This strategic alliance will see AE bring its signature luxury and operational prowess to The Pinnacle’s 240-key branded hotel and 417 high-end residences, transforming Jamaica’s western coastline into a premier destination for global jetsetters.
Accor, which holds a majority stake in Ennismore, ranks just behind Marriott in global scale, measured by completed and upcoming hospitality projects. Ennismore itself boasts a growing portfolio of 184 lifestyle hotels across 40 countries — with an additional 140 properties in the pipeline — and over 500 restaurants and bars globally, including in Europe, Asia Pacific, the Middle East, and the Americas.
At The Pinnacle, one Ennismore brand will oversee operations of the striking 28-floor hotel tower, while another will manage the upscale residences and 12 private luxury villas. The identities of these two flagship brands are to be revealed later this year, adding to the growing anticipation surrounding the development.
Jason Hsiang, Executive Vice-President of Development for the Americas at Ennismore, highlighted the uniqueness of the Jamaican project.
“We’ve been growing quite rapidly in the Americas and, from an aspect of growth, very selective where we go [in] growing the business,” Hsiang shared during a recent press briefing.
“With all the given nuances and particular opportunities we have here at The Pinnacle it just allows such a phenomenal opportunity for Accor to launch here in Jamaica.”
A New Standard for Jamaican Luxury
Jamaica’s Minister of Tourism, the Hon. Edmund Bartlett, welcomed Accor’s long-anticipated arrival with open arms, underscoring the significance of this move for Jamaica’s evolving tourism sector.
“Accor, we’ve wanted you so long. We’re happy that you have finally landed in Jamaica,” Bartlett stated.
The Pinnacle marks a historic first — Jamaica’s debut branded residences, a concept previously seen in only a few elite enclaves such as The Tryall Club, Round Hill, Soleil Residences in Montego Bay, and The Camden in Kingston. According to Global Branded Residences, this leap positions Jamaica squarely in the path of elite real estate developments seen in international markets.
Bartlett emphasized that with luxury branding must come the commensurate upskilling of Jamaica’s workforce.
“I’m excited about… training and building the capacity of our people to provide high-end luxury offerings in the tourism space — that’s very, very important,” he told Hsiang.
“We talk about low-end jobs and low-paying jobs… and we talk about how do we make that transition into the value added — and this is it. It is when you bring brands of this nature at a higher end of offering that you will then require a higher quality of productivity and a higher level of income.”
Empowering the Local Workforce
In response to concerns around equitable development, Hsiang was quick to highlight Ennismore’s inclusive philosophy.
“Our approach is not just to build properties — it’s to become a true part of the communities we operate in, contributing positively and sustainably.”
Tanya Golaub, Chief Operating Officer at LCH Development, echoed this sentiment and elaborated on how the Jamaican workforce will be integral to the property’s long-term success.
“This partnership will benefit our wider community. We are dedicated to nurturing a strong Jamaican workforce,” Golaub affirmed.
“This we will achieve through Ennismore’s international training programmes and with our own Pinnacle Foundation where our education and housing programme is created to empower our people, raising the bar of excellence.”
The Pinnacle Foundation is envisioned as a catalyst for real socioeconomic change, offering training, education, and housing support for locals — ensuring that luxury development goes hand-in-hand with community upliftment.
An Iconic Development in the Making
The Pinnacle is more than a hotel or residence — it's a destination in itself. Once fully realised, the masterplan includes four 28-storey towers, a 15-slip private marina, and a five-storey, members-only club reserved exclusively for residents and villa owners. The site will also boast a curated collection of lifestyle amenities designed to rival any metropolitan luxury property.
Phase One — which includes Towers One (The Swallowtail) and Two (The Canary) alongside a seven-storey parking structure — is slated for completion by 2027. With the recent announcement of the Accor Ennismore partnership, momentum is building and investor interest is expected to surge.
A Beacon of Global Sophistication in the Caribbean
As Jamaica deepens its position in the international luxury tourism and real estate market, The Pinnacle is emerging as both a symbol of aspiration and a platform for opportunity. By fusing international standards with Jamaican cultural identity, this development is not just reshaping Montego Bay’s skyline — it’s redefining what’s possible for the island’s future.
In the words of one development executive: “This isn’t just a project. This is Jamaica’s moment to step fully onto the world stage — with elegance, with pride, and with purpose.”
