Despite the Real Estate (Dealers and Developers) Act requiring registration with the REB, a significant proportion of property transactions in Jamaica are facilitated by unlicensed individuals who operate outside the regulatory framework with no professional accountability. This report examines the scale of the problem and the risks to buyers and sellers who engage unregistered practitioners.
