KINGSTON, Jamaica — The United States (US) dollar on Wednesday, October 30, ended trading at $159.11, up three cents, according to the Bank of Jamaica’s daily foreign exchange trading summary.
The Canadian dollar closed at $114.48, up from $114.33, while the British pound sterling ended at $206.15, down from $206.63.
The Jamaican dollar slipped slightly against the US and Canadian dollars but firmed against the pound, leaving it broadly steady overall.

What it means for property buyers and the diaspora
Quiet days like this give buyers and sellers a stable reference point for negotiations. If you are comparing a Jamaican-dollar asking price with a budget held in US or Canadian dollars, the numbers barely shifted. UK-based buyers got a touch less for their pounds, which is worth keeping in mind when timing a larger transfer for legal fees or a deposit.
