KINGSTON, Jamaica — Jamaican motorists are getting some relief at the pumps this week, with Petrojam cutting the ex-refinery prices of both grades of gasoline and several other fuel products effective Thursday, October 1.
According to the latest Petrojam pricing schedule, 87-octane gasoline falls by J$3.06 to J$152.79 per litre, while 90-octane also drops by J$3.06 to J$159.42 per litre.
Automotive diesel records the largest reduction, falling J$10.50 to J$179.67 per litre. Ultra-low-sulphur diesel is down J$8.50 to J$199.61 per litre, while kerosene slips J$0.25 to J$180.46 per litre.
Propane falls J$0.25 to J$70.60 per litre and butane declines J$2.94 to J$88.24 per litre.

The reduction in diesel offers a small measure of relief for households and businesses exposed to transport and delivery costs, including contractors and building-material suppliers. The final price motorists pay at service stations will vary because marketing companies and retailers add their respective mark-ups.
