KINGSTON, Jamaica — The National Water Commission says customers in 14 St Andrew communities are to experience a scheduled water supply interruption from 6:00 a.m. on Sunday, October 4, 2026, while urgent cleaning is carried out at its Griffin facility.
The affected areas are Irish Town, Red Light, Hart Hill and adjoining communities, Industry Village, Cottage Hill, Wiltshire, Cornfield, Enfield, Jackfruit Tree, Gayle Mountain, Bermuda Mountain, Rodney Pen, Cameron Hill and Ellerslie Way.
NWC said the interruption is required to facilitate cleaning at the facility. Water supply is projected to be restored by 8:00 a.m. on Monday, October 5.
Customers in the named communities are being advised to store sufficient water in advance for essential household use during the interruption. Residents should note that the notice applies to the communities identified by the NWC and does not indicate a parish-wide shutdown.
