KINGSTON, Jamaica — The National Water Commission (NWC) has introduced a temporary water supply rotation affecting several Trelawny communities after an operational problem disrupted its Clarks Town Well network.
In an official notice dated October 22, 2026, NWC said water from its Ettingdon Well source is being redistributed under a weekly schedule until further notice.
Under the schedule, Clarks Town, Duncans, Kinloss, Duncans Bay, Hyde, Gibralta, Georgia and other named areas are listed for supply from Thursdays through Saturdays. Refuge, Spicy Hill and Stewart Castle are among the communities listed for supply from Sundays through Wednesdays. The official table lists Carey Park in both the supplied and unsupplied groups for part of the week, so residents there should seek clarification directly from NWC.
Trucked water is planned for other affected areas, including Windsor Housing Scheme, Logwood Walk, Samuel Prospect, Crawle, Sharsmidth Prospect, Kettering and Duncans Hill. NWC said it is also maintaining access for essential institutions, including schools, police stations and health centres.
Detailed shot of an elevated water storage tank on a worn, wooden platform, showcasing the tank's weathered, galvanized steel design with rusty accents, and the network of pipes and valves that supply water to the home, set against a warm, golden hour sky with subtle, atmospheric haze, captured in a cinematic film still style, reminiscent of the works of cinematographer Emmanuel Lubezki, with a mix of the gritty realism of filmmakers like Denis Villeneuve and the nostalgic, film grain aesthetic of 35mm film, incorporating a subtle vignette and nuanced color grading, evoking a sense of drama and epic scope
For trucked water requests or updates, customers can call 888-225-5692 or the regional office at 876-940-4447. No date for ending the rotation was given.
