Dublin’s St Patrick’s Cathedral completed a €9.4 million restoration in 2021, including 14,000 Welsh slates, funded by government, sponsorship and visitors, plus €3.4 million in borrowing after the pandemic cut visitor income.

A 3.16-acre former Sisters of Mercy convent complex in Passage West, Cork, was listed at €1.2 million with full planning permission for 35 apartments, 13 detached homes and two shops, keeping the historic convent facade.

St Nicholas’ Church at Moyliskar near Mullingar, a former Church of Ireland building out of use for about 30 years, was listed at €170,000, offering 139 square metres, 0.7 acres and stained glass attributed to Sarah Purser.

The Presentation Convent in Fermoy, Co Cork, a 15-bedroom house built around 1820 on 6.8 acres and owned by the order since 1922, was listed at €850,000, its first time on the market in 97 years.

Three companies went to court claiming rights over a €4.9 million to €6.1 million Mount Anville site, including a nursing home and walled garden, while the Society of the Sacred Heart said sale talks ended with no deal.
