Trust ye in the Lord for ever: for in the Lord Jehovah is everlasting strength. Isaiah 26:4
His is the greatness, the power, the glory, the victory and the majesty. There is no reason to limit what the Holy One of Israel can do in a given circumstance.
What a source to turn to in times of trouble. Man is erring, stubborn, and at times defiant even against God, but the Lord remains kind, patient and full of tender compassion. He holds heaven and earth, and knows what is needed before it is even asked for.
We see only a little way ahead of us, but all things are open before the one we answer to. He is never confused. He sits above the confusion and distraction of daily life, and from that vantage he orders what His providence knows to be best.
Left to plan for ourselves, mistakes would be inevitable. Our prejudices, our weaknesses and our blind spots would show themselves in a hundred ways. But the work is not ultimately ours to carry alone.
Whatever burden weighs heavily, it can be handed over rather than carried indefinitely. The mind kept steady on God is kept, the old promise goes, in perfect peace.
At times it will feel like another step is not possible. Wait, and remember: I am God. Be strong and of good courage; do not be afraid, for wherever you go, He goes with you.
Faith, in the end, is the simple and difficult art of taking God at His word. That is solid ground to stand on.
