HAMILTON, Bermuda — Bermuda’s Economic Investment and Residential Certificate (EIRC) has attracted $604.9 million in investment, the government said in December 2025, citing figures as of 5 November.
The certificate allows people who invest at least $2.5 million in Bermuda to apply for residence. Officials said most holders invest well above that minimum. Real estate is one of the qualifying sectors. Minister Jason Hayward said the aim of the programme was to “harness immigration as a catalyst for growth,” Bernews reported on 9 December.
What it means
Analysis: Unlike citizenship programmes in the Eastern Caribbean, Bermuda’s scheme offers residence rather than a passport, and its US$2.5 million threshold places it firmly at the top end of the market. Investor residents are an important source of demand for Bermuda’s luxury homes and development projects.
