Easington

Easington is a settlement located in the parish of Saint Thomas, Jamaica, approximately 17.92°N latitude and 76.60°W longitude. Situated along the upper banks of the Yallahs River, it is a small community with a population of around 2,664 residents, according to recent data.  Easington is historically significant as the district where Paul Bogle, one of Jamaica’s national heroes, rested during his journey. ​

The community is also known for the Easington Bridge over the Yallahs River, which facilitates transportation and connects various parts of the parish. The bridge is an important landmark and has been featured in local media, highlighting its significance to the area.  Additionally, Easington has been associated with historical estates linked to the legacy of British slavery, reflecting the complex history of the region.
