A miracle is an extraordinary event understood to result from divine power rather than ordinary natural causes. In Christianity, miracles are often seen as signs of God’s presence, compassion and authority, and the Bible records many associated with Jesus, including healing the sick, feeding large crowds, calming storms and raising the dead.
In Jamaica, the word is often used both in church and everyday life to describe an outcome that seems beyond expectation, especially after illness, hardship, disaster or personal crisis. In a Christian sense, however, a miracle is more than simply good luck. It is understood as an act of God that points to His power, purpose or grace.
