Four Services a Week to One 40,000-Square-Foot Home: A Washington Church Raises $11 Million and Moves In

A fast-growing congregation in Washington state has moved into a building big enough to stop squeezing in four services a week. The Tri-Cities Area Journal of Business reported that Hungry Generation has opened its new church in Kennewick.

The Assemblies of God church, founded in 2001 and led since 2016 by Pastor Vladimir Savchuk, opened at 1120 N. Edison St. in February 2026. The 40,000-square-foot building seats 953 in the main worship area and up to 2,200 with overflow spaces, and has children’s classrooms for up to 200.

The land cost $3.1 million for the church site, $1.2 million for parking and $1.3 million for a coffee shop property. The church raised $11 million in donations over four years for construction and took loans from Christian Community Credit Union of San Dimas, California. The general contractor was Innovative Solutions Construction of Pasco.

In its old building in Pasco, now owned by the Salvation Army, the church held four services each week. It now holds two Sunday services, each drawing 600 to 700 people. Savchuk described the new church as a “very big improvement, huge relief”.

The project shows what a disciplined building campaign looks like: years of fundraising, land bought in stages and a specialist church lender for the rest. Jamaican congregations planning to build can learn from that sequence. Raising a large share of the cost before borrowing reduces the debt burden, and buying adjoining land for parking or related uses can pay off later. For diaspora members asked to give to a building fund, a clear budget and financing plan like this one is a fair thing to expect.
