Barking Lodge

Barking Lodge is a quaint village located in the eastern coastal region of Saint Thomas Parish, Jamaica, known for its rich history and strong community spirit. The village is home to Barking Lodge Primary and Infant School, established in 1965 to serve surrounding communities like New Pera, Hampton Court, and Springfield. In March 2025, the school underwent a $41-million upgrade funded by the Culture, Health, Arts, Sports, and Education (CHASE) Fund. This upgrade included transforming the teacher’s cottage into two modern classrooms with a sick bay, bathroom facilities, a kitchenette, an office, and perimeter fencing. The investment reflects the village’s commitment to providing quality education and nurturing a supportive environment for young learners.
