
Dean Jones joined CNN International to provide a ground-level perspective from Jamaica following the catastrophic impact of Hurricane Melissa.
Drawing on his experience as a Chartered Construction Manager, Surveyor, Project Manager and Realtor, Jones discussed the storm’s effects on the country’s infrastructure, property market and communities now confronting the difficult task of rebuilding.
His message extended beyond the immediate destruction, highlighting the need for greater resilience, stronger planning and smarter reconstruction. Jones called for deeper collaboration among government, built-environment professionals and local communities to strengthen Jamaica’s infrastructure and improve preparedness for future storms.
Through his work in Jamaica and internationally, Jones has contributed to projects focused on balancing design, resilience and long-term sustainability.
